Expedia, the global on line travel agency, has recently located its Australian Headquarters over three floors at 1 Martin Place, in the heart of Sydney’s new technology hub.

Precise Air and Precise Fire joined forces to complete the installation and coordination of mechanical and fire services fit outs in this Charter Hall property, on behalf of FDC Construction and Fit Out.

The Precise Fire team completed the installation, coordination and commissioning of the sprinkler services, fire detection, EWIS system and extinguishers, while the Precise Air team installed and commissioned the mechanical services.

“Appointing the Group to deliver both the Fire and Air services provides many benefits to our customers during the design, installation and commissioning phases,” explained Joe Mazza, Director National Business Development.

“It means that we can iron out many of the issues in the office that arise from positioning of the services and programming the installation – and we end up with fewer surprises out on site that could delay works,” Joe continued.

Air and Fire a winning Quinella for Tabcorp https://www.preciseair.com.au/air-and-fire-a-winning-quinella-for-tabcorp/ Thu, 05 Feb 2015 13:00:00 +0000 http://sandbox.kookacreative.com/preciseair/air-and-fire-a-winning-quinella-for-tabcorp/ Air and Fire a winning Quinella for Tabcorp

Precise Air’s top form continues with the recent completion of the mechanical and fire services  fit out for the new Tabcorp Headquarters at 680 George St Sydney. Tabcorp’s consolidation and move of their Ultimo and Rosebery sites into the ultra-modern building in the heart of the city is part of their Group-wideproductivity project.

The Precise Air and Precise Fire Installation teams worked closely with Aston Consulting, the builder, architect and the Jones Lang La Salle project and development services team, to deliver a fit out that met Tabcorp’s need to support the modern work practices of a 24/7 operation whilst reducing Tabcorp’s environmental footprint.

Starting with a detailed design review, the Air and Fire teams completed a full refurbishment to accommodate the new partitioned office and detailed ceiling layouts.

“The high end fit out provided obstacles that required co-ordination and close collaboration with the builder and architect,” explained Theo Rigas, Precise Fire’s Project Manager. “Ceiling details like perforated gyprock with borders, magna grid and detailed lighting layouts required detailed co-ordination and meant that we had to spend a little longer on the installation, but we still delivered the project one week ahead of time.”

The Fire installation included flush mount sprinkler heads, EWIS speakers and smoke detection with the team liaising closely with the base building fire contractor for system isolation and panel programming.

The Air team installed a supplementary system to maintain services while completing the VRF system installation over the three floors.

Precise Air Group Director Sam La Rocca explains that the integrated approach of the Precise Fire and Precise Air teams helped secure the refit contract.  “We won this fit out on the back of a Fire and Mechanical upgrade that we completed on the Computer room earlier in 2014,” Sam explained. “Communications are vital for Tabcorp, so we installed a smoke detection and VESDA early warning smoke aspirating system that continually pulls in and tests air to provide early warning of fire, plus a condensor water system.”

“Having the Precise Air and Precise Fire teams work together helped the project run smoothly ,” said Precise Air’s Construction Manager Darren Miles, “streamlining many of the discussions and scheduling issues that frequently arise managing and coordinated multiple services.”
